Micro hydropower helps the rural areas to supply power with off grid electrification. This study deals design of micro scheme in Gobecho kebele, Genale Dawa river basin, Ethiopia. The site for construction diversion weir is located upstream Ganga kebele. were implemented based on available hydrological data collected from 1991 2020 discharge at different stations by selecting one, which near catchment. Ererti a station geographically catchment using GIS 10.7 application. peak probable 3.503m3/s computed log normal distribution after L-moment analysis. Based this discharge, vertical drop and components headwork structure designed provided relevant dimensions. proposed has height 0.703m, crest length 10m flow 0.132m3/s estimated FDC. water passes through trapezoidal canal 0.35m width 0.43 forebay tank. A size 9 × 1.3 1.7 end canal. Moreover, leads 0.24m diameter penstock running one unit turbine capacity 25kw. selected type plant cross turbine. Finally, quantity calculated estimate cost 50,000 USD B/C ratio 1.48 project.
